A grant of $500 can go a long way to help safeguard your studio, protect your career, and prepare you for emergencies. From purchasing cases and locks to secure tools, to building storage systems to protect artwork from flooding, to improving studio ergonomics, artists have used CERF+’s Get Ready Grants to make big shifts in their creative practices and their peace of mind.

“I had not anticipated the emotional impact that this improvement to my studio is providing me. It feels incredible knowing that my studio is now a safe environment to work in without having to open windows, doors, and position fans to blow fumes to the exterior.” – Cynthia Myron, a Virginia-based metalsmith who used her Get Ready Grant to purchase a fume extractor for her studio.

The deadline to submit a Get Ready Grant application is May 15th. You can learn more and apply here. We will be funding at least one legacy planning grant with funds from the Meg Ostrum Crafting Your Legacy Fund, dedicated to supporting artists in preserving their artistic legacies.
