Get Ready Grants Fund 21 Artist Preparedness Projects

Sophie Glenn Get Ready Grantee

Twenty-one artists have been awarded a total of $10,267 in Get Ready Grants from CERF+ to help them safeguard their studios, protect their careers and prepare for emergencies. These small grants will have a big impact on artist studio practices. Among the artists whose projects received funding are Leigh Suggs, a paper artist from Richmond, Virginia will build wall-mounted storage systems to keep her delicate artwork safe; ceramic artist Priya Thoresen will purchase hydraulic lifts for her Minneapolis, MN studio to ease strain on her body; and Davenport, Florida jewelry artist Rebecca Rose will begin legacy and estate planning by digitizing her artwork and related documents. We look forward to sharing our grantees’ progress with you over the coming months.

Our next Get Ready Grant deadline will be May, 15, 2019
