Montpelier, VT (March 16, 2020) — CERF+ is actively monitoring the coronavirus outbreak as it evolves and expands each day. In response, we are taking action on several fronts.
Today, CERF+ is launching the COVID-19 Response Fund to support artists working in craft disciplines. This fund is essential to our rapid and effective response to those artists who are suffering severe health impacts from the coronavirus, ensuring that CERF+ has the funds necessary to respond to this unprecedented crisis. Please donate today to the CERF+ COVID-19 Response Fund.
In addition to our expansive information and resources for artists related to this crisis, we are aggregating all relevant information from artists, peer organizations, and the emergency management community. If you have information to share, please direct these resources to our education and outreach manager, Carrie Cleveland.
Please join us, artists, and other artist service organizations for a live streaming webinar this evening (March 16) at 8:00PM EDT hosted by HowlRound Theatre Commons to learn about resources and how artists are coping in these uncertain times. You can view a video of the webinar here.
This week, we will distribute a short survey to gather information from artists about their current status, including health, current and forecasted losses. We need this data to advocate for artists and other self-employed workers to access various federal emergency relief packages from the federal government. The survey will also help us better understand how we can be most helpful to you.
We will continue to stay in touch with you throughout this crisis with information and resources. Together we are stronger and we are thankful for this community.
