Super Typhoon Sinlaku affected Tinian and Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands as well as Guam in mid-April 2026. High winds and heavy rain resulted in property damage, downed power lines, and flooding.
In March 2026, Hawaii experienced extremely heavy rainfall, causing widespread flooding. The North Shore of Oahu and Maui have been especially affected, and several thousand evacuation orders have been issued. Many residents have been displaced and experienced extensive property damage or complete losses of homes, businesses, and vehicles.
Earlier in March 2026, tornadoes and severe storms affected a large part of the country, from the Midwest, to the Ohio Valley, Mid-Atlantic, and northern Gulf states. Indiana and Illinois suffered fatalities and extensive damage.
CERF+ is connecting with local partners on the ground to learn more about the needs of local artists and offer resources to craft artists who are affected by the storms.
