Clinton Global Initiative Post-Disaster Recovering Action Network
Following the devastating 2017 hurricane season, local leaders from Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda approached former President Bill Clinton to help them build back better. In response, The Clinton Foundation launched the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Action Network on Post-Disaster Recovery in the Caribbean. Building on CGI’s proven Commitment to Action model, this new Action Network brings together leaders from across sectors to develop new, specific, and measurable plans that advance recovery and promote long-term resiliency across the region.

Earlier this month, CERF+ executive director, Cornelia Carey, attended the second formal meeting CGI in Miami, Florida. CERF+ joined 350 participants from government, business, philanthropy, nonprofit and other sectors to work on recovery from last year’s storms, discuss readiness for this year’s hurricane season, and address long-term recovery needs and solutions.
